Red Bull Car Park Drift held in Abu Dhabi
The Red Bull Car Park Drift event was held last weekend in Abu Dhabi. Meant to be the UAE Qualifier for the Middle East-wide Red Bull Car Park Drift 2011, there were as many as 25 contestants trying their luck, with Red Bull’s own sponsored driver putting on an occasional show that evening.

Team Haste top F1 in Schools competition
Six teams – three boys and three girls – participated in the competition where Team Haste snapped up all of the prizes for best verbal presentation, fastest car, best team identity and best business plan. The girl’s event was won by Team Rush. Both teams will represent the school in the 2012 UAE National competition at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi in March next year. Team Galacticos finished third.
F1: Students can be Ecclestones of the future
Schools student from around the UAE will briefly forget about topping the merit lists and instead focus on taking the summit on podium in the F1 in Schools challenge. Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit has combined forces with the School of Research Science (SRS) Dubai to put on the event at the SRS campus off Baghdad Street in the Al Nahda area of Dubai.
Abu Dhabi hotels welcome Q1 growth
Abu Dhabi hotels welcomed a 10 percent increase in visitors during the first quarter this year compared to the last, with up to 510,114 guests over the first three months. According to figures released by Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), March saw the highest increase in visitors, with hotels checking in 180,931 people, nine percent more than the same month last year.
