Crystal supports Aquatic Design and Engineering in creating Ferrari World entrance on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi
World class aquatic architecture firm, Aquatic Design and Engineering, with the support of international water feature specialist Crystal, has created one of the world’s largest and most spectacular, customised water features at the Yas Island Welcome Pavilion in Abu Dhabi.
Yas Links the best of the best
Yas Links. Within earshot of Yas Marina Formula One Circuit (its one detracting feature on race days) its penal rough to catch wayward drives from a variety of tee boxes provides a demanding test for golfers of all abilities and offers stunning coastal views from many of its holes.
All for one
The first time I drove to Abu Dhabi from Dubai – an experience in itself that makes one wonder why the Formula One racetrack is confined to Yas Island, given the average speed of the motorists on this inter-emirate highway – I was struck by how ‘citified’ Abu Dhabi felt.
City of Islands & fauna
The majority of the islands are plane, sandy and uninhabited, but each has its own character of flora and fauna. Both Saadiyat Island and Yas Island on the outskirts of the Capital are being developed, and Saadiyat Island will soon become the cultural capital of Abu Dhabi, while Yas Island is home to Yas Marina Circuit.

First, the test took place at the Yas Marina F1 Circuit in Abu Dhabi. If there is a finer racetrack anywhere in the world, I have yet to see it. The facilities are first-rate, with spacious garages, opulent suites and enough lights around the track to make a good stab at simulating daylight.
Gourmet Abu Dhabi 2011 begins

(For example, those who hold a candle for James Martin, of Saturday Kitchen fame, will surely not want to miss his celebrity dinner at the Crowne Plaza on Yas Island tomorrow night).
Aldar motoring ahead on two fronts
Abu Dhabi’s largest developer confirmed yesterday it was on track to deliver 2,600 units in the Al Raha Beach area this year. The company also expects to open the first phase of Motor World, its collection of new and used car showrooms, in April. Aldar announced a funding plan this month under which the Abu Dhabi Government would buy Dh10.9 billion (US$2.9bn) of the company’s infrastructure assets on Yas Island, Dh5.5bn of residential units and land, and issue a Dh2.8bn convertible bond.
Aldar plays down delisting amid investor questions
Aldar Properties said it had no intention to delist from the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange despite its scramble to manage its debts that has seen the government buy Ferrari World, among other assets. Abu Dhabi’s biggest developer told investors that the option “had not been proposed or suggested” and will remain as a listed public joint stock company.
